Review:
Attended Rockpool on 10 Feb 11. Restaurant staff informed us (and other diners) at 11.50am that they were not ready for 12pm. Arrived again just after 12pm, to find staff still preparing for the day.
Food wise, the Cape Grimm Grass Fed 73 Day Aged Beef was excellent. The Wagyu Topside was not quite up to the Cape Grimm but still nice to eat.
The sides were different, the carrots side was very small, whilst the zucchini side was full to overflowing - you could have fed 8 diners with this side.
Wine selection was excellent, staff service was come and go, 5 staff over 2 hours, becoming progressively slower as the meal progressed.
People say that you need $500 minimum to eat at Rockpool, we found you could get a meal with wine there for just over $200.00, it depends on your choice of food and/or wine.
End of the day, the beef was very good, the service was patchy. I would rate the dining experience as a 6/10.
