2011 Australian Gourmet Traveller
Travel Awards
About the Travel Awards
For the past five years the Gourmet Traveller Travel Awards have recognised the continent’s most outstanding destinations and tourist operators, those dedicated people who specialise in showcasing Australia’s best assets to us, and to the world. As always, the awards shortlists have been decided by our judging panel, an expert group of independent travel writers, editors, photographers and industry professionals who graciously shared with us their favourite experiences of the past year. Their most popular choices make up the shortlists in each of the 12 voting categories this year.
The categories cover everything from Best New Boutique Accommodation and Best Indigenous Experience to Best Hotel or Resort Dining and Best Adventure Tourism. Every state has made the finals of the 2011 Travel Awards. How they fare from here is entirely up to you.
Last year, more than 34,000 GT readers and Getaway viewers voted to honour our most deserving tourism operators and from Monday 28 March, you can have your say right here. (Keep an eye out for our Travel Awards promotions on Getaway on Nine, Thursdays at 8pm.) Voting is live until 30 April.
