In an intimate yet sultry space, Buzo is a neighbourhood trattoria that elegantly inhabits an area between unpretentious local and destinationdiner. The team delivers the type of comforting yet deceptively simple Italian food you wish you could master but ultimately have to venture out to find. Sit at the long banquette for spirited conversation with friends, enjoyed alongside the sophistication of a Savoy cabbage salad, an Italian take on coleslaw jammed with pine nuts, pecorino, marsala-soaked raisins and breadcrumbs. Or nab a table under the window for a romantic night assisted by vincisgrassi – the famously rich lasagne that heaves with porcini, prosciutto and truffle. Service can be a little brisk, but don’t be frightened off before dessert: baked Meyer lemon, treacle and mascarpone cheesecake will ease any misgivings, as will the house-made limoncello delivered with your bill.
