Cupitt's Vineyard Kitchen

Rolling green hills, dairy cows and a 19th-century sandstone cottage make a setting conducive to a long lunch. A world away from nearby Ulladulla, this is a charming rustic retreat serving generous fare worthy of a detour. The gazpacho, a classic Spanish soup not often noteworthy, is velvety, peppery and lush, a perfect (and wise) entrée suggestion given the substantial and hearty items to follow, in particular the huge, slow-cooked, grain-fed chicken, perhaps a little tough, spiced beautifully with smoky paprika and honey and served with white beans. The chocolate and hazelnut ganache, deliciously smooth and rich and served with a raspberry sorbet, is a great way to finish and is sized to share. Choose a wine from the well-priced Cupitt’s-dominant list, or order your food, pop across to the cellar door and pick something that complements your meal.
