Vince Jones live at Icebergs

A night of jazz and pinot noir is coming up in Bondi.

A night of jazz and pinot noir is coming up in Bondi.

Start with Vince Jones, add one of Sydney’s most coveted ocean views, mix in fare by Monty Koludrovic and pair it with pinot noir. Icebergs’ latest black tie Jazz + Pinot event is one not to miss.

The evening’s menu will make its way through Europe. A taste of France will kick things off with foie gras and marinated bonito on toast, served with Champagne. The following dishes return to Icebergs’ Italian roots. There’ll be local burrata with shellfish oil, crudo sea scallop and nasturtiums; and risi e bisi – a dish of rice and peas – served with amaro-glazed pork, fennel and crackling.

Wine, apart from the initial French addition, will be strictly Australian pinot noir, curated by sommelier James Hird, wine director at Icebergs, Da Orazio, The Dolphin and Terzinis, and co-founder of Rootstock Sydney wine festival.

The highlight of the evening, though, will be the tunes. Jones is a renowned Australian jazz vocalist who’s performed his soulful tunes around the globe for 35 years, releasing a total of 17 albums so far. He will enchant guests with a performance going into the night, with support from his trumpet and a quartet.

Icebergs’ owner Maurice Terzini’s relationship with Jones dates back to the 1980s, when he was a customer at Terzini’s Caffe e Cucina in Melbourne.
