Glebe Point Diner

Modern Australian

407 Glebe Point Rd, Glebe, NSW
T (02) 9660 2646
The Diner may now be the proud sibling of a Neutral Bay sister outpost, but the first-born hasn’t gone off the boil. Thirlmere duck liver pâté remains as smooth as ever, even if the service is currently more neighbourhood-friendly than restaurant-polished. The likes of roast pork rack, rich with crackling, its fat cut with vinegar-bright sour-sweet peppers, is indicative of the kind of big, meaty main courses, sourced and cooked with palpable care, that have won GPD so loyal a local following. The casual atmosphere – paper laid over marble tabletops, the kitchen’s boxes of onions and bowls of lemons doing double-duty as decoration – is conducive to lazy lunches, as is the international wine list. It’s the little touches, finally, whether it’s the confit oranges in the cannoli to close or the offer of house-made ginger beer, that keep the Diner close to our hearts.
