Gourmet Traveller reader dinner: Stokehouse, Brisbane

Join us at Brisbane’s newest hot spot for an evening of relaxed summertime dining, Stokehouse-style.

Stokehouse has done it again, this time bringing the relaxed glamour for which the Melbourne landmark is renowned to sunny subtropical Queensland. With its sleek timber deck and striking interior, the new waterside venue has laid-back chic down to a tee. The effortless flow of the dining and bar areas combines casual and formal dining in a sweeping space: “What’s exciting is that we’ve got a bar that morphs into a dining room,” food director Anthony Musarra told GT during our recent visit to photograph their bar snacks for our feature in the February issue.
 
The menu for this month’s reader dinner was devised by Musarra and head chef Tony Kelly. Perfectly in tune with the restaurant’s river-side setting, it includes the likes of Queensland scallop tartare with a scallop velouté, porcini-dusted lamb with almond cream, and drunken date and mascarpone tart.
