Nu Nu

Modern Australian

123 Williams Esp, Palm Cove, QLD
T (07) 4059 1880
The climate of far north Queensland doesn’t easily lend itself to fine dining. It demands light, zesty flavours and food you can eat with an ice-cold beer. No one does this sort of food and bridges the gap better than Nu Nu. Vietnamese crisp-fried pork ribs with lime cheeks, spiced salt and chilli are worth the visit alone. Order two. Smoked red emperor parcels with chilli and green papaya relish are a jumble of chilli, sweet and salt, as is the caramel pork with lemongrass, Thai basil and mint salad. The crab sandwich, unfortunately, is a bit light on its star ingredient. Not that you’ll be worried for long. Admire the view through the trees out to the Coral Sea, order a glass from the fine and interesting wine list and a chocolate fudge-centred meringue with hazelnut, Valrhona ice-cream and chocolate sauce and you’ll want to make Palm Cove your home and Nu Nu your local.
