Pulp Kitchen

If every quiet suburb had a restaurant of the calibre of Pulp Kitchen, how happy we’d all be. Big flavours, straightforward presentation, reasonable prices and enthusiastic, speedy service make this a place to go back to time and again. Young families grab the tables early, then there’s a constant stream of people in the know, of all ages. Spaghetti with Sicilian meatballs and tomato sauce is the perfect example of how a simple dish done well has few peers. Likewise the roast mushrooms on soft polenta with garlic bruschetta or the chicken with spinach and Gorgonzola gnocchi (you can have the gorgeous gnocchi as a dish on its own). Christian Hauberg has pulled off a class act in his modest dining room with timber tables, presided over by an enigmatic painting of a waitress in a demure black dress carrying a tray of… Go and see for yourself. It’s a good excuse for a great meal.
