Strawberry, Cognac and White Wine Sangria

You'll need

  • 500 ml (2 cups)
  • white wine or rosé
  • 6
  • strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced
  • 100 ml
  • Cognac
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup)
  • sugar syrup (see note)
  • 1
  • orange, quartered, seeds removed
  • 1
  • lemon, thinly sliced widthways, seeds removed
  • To serve:
  • ginger ale, chilled

Method

  • 01
  • Throw all ingredients, except ginger ale, into a carafe and refrigerate overnight.
  • 02
  • Pour into wine glasses and top with ale.
