Apple and cinnamon hot cross buns

The mix of candied apple and dried apple combined with a sticky cinnamon glaze provides a new twist on an old favourite. These buns are equally good served warm on the day of baking, or several days later, toasted, with lashings of butter.

Nougat, salted peanut caramel and milk chocolate tart

What's not to love about a Snickers bar? All the elements are here, but if you don't feel like making your own nougat, you could always scatter some diced nougat in the base of the tart instead. The caramel is dark, verging on bitter, while a good whack of salt cuts through some of the sweetness - extra roasted salted peanuts on top can only be a good thing.

You'll need

4 kransky sausages 1 tbsp olive oil 6 eggs 6 ciabatta rolls or 12 slices of ciabatta 30 gm pickled jalapeño chillies To serve: HP sauce

Method

  • 01
  • Using a sharp knife, cut each sausage into thirds lengthways. Heat oil in a large frying pan, add sausages and cook for 1-2 minutes each side or until golden, remove to a plate lined with absorbent paper and cover to keep warm.
  • 02
  • Break eggs into frying pan and cook for 2 minutes for soft, or until cooked to your liking. Season with sea salt and ground black pepper.
  • 03
  • Using a sharp knife split rolls in half lengthways, top bases with sausages, eggs, jalapeños and HP sauce, then cover with tops, add sauce as desired, and serve immediately.
