Restaurant Manx

Restaurant Manx is every bit as streamlined as its iconic 50s motorbike namesake. Inside, a long banquette offers pole position for people-watching, while several snug booths to the side are perfect for small groups. Rev things up with a roast tomato and buffalo mozzarella tart, seasoned beautifully with a tapénade, then shift up a gear with Green Mountain veal with potato and anchovy gratin and olive salsa. Grilled barramundi with chickpeas, warm citrus and fennel will have fish lovers purring. Caroline Jones’ desserts are exceptional; vanilla Champagne jelly, raspberry and peach salad with raspberry granita won’t push you over the line (even after the irresistible roast kipflers with chorizo, coriander and chilli). By-the-glass wines include Italian and French options as well as an award-winning Queensland wine. The rest of the list is equally well considered. Manx is sure to get your motor running.
