Can anyone suggest some great lunch/dinner restaurants in Auckland? My partner and I are going there for the weekend in late August and have very little time to sample the best Auckland has to offer. Thanks!

Depending on where you are staying and what type of food you like, here are a few of my favourites around the city .... The French Cafe, Kermadec, Harbourside, Cin Cin, Monsoon Poon, Soul, Euro, Soto (Japanese), SPQR. If you manage to get over to Waiheke Island - you must either go to Mud Brick or Cable Bay. Check out www.cuisine.co.nz for reviews. I hope you enjoy your stay :)

if i had to pick 1, it would be The Grove in CBD Auckland...recently got best restaurant award over french cafe holding it for many years (and a not so good place called merediths getting it last year, but that was just a restaurant du jour move I think)....SPQR or Prego in Ponsonby both do great food in a casual Italian style....but between French & Grover...french cafe more formal and classic style, grove more fun with a fabulous wine list to match....
