Hi, I have the rather hard task of finding restaurants in Launceston that have good food at a budget price. It needs to have room for 30 people, close to the CBD and preferably BYO. We would be dining on a Tuesday and Wednesday night if there are restaurants that do mid week specials. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated? Many thanks!

Hi, it sounds like you have already looked at a number of award-winning restaurants like Black Cow Bistro, Stillwater, Hallams Waterfront and Daniel Alps at Strathlynn. It really depends what type of food you are after. Pierre's on George is a local institution serving a good modern french menu while I think the Northern Club would be a good option for your group. Francos Restaurant is a great Italian and the Tandoori Bazaar is a good Indian alternative. The Jail House Grill specialises in excellent steaks at affordable prices. Anyway - hope that helps...most have websites if you want to do some further research. Good luck.

I have heard that Novaros (Italian) is good but not sure about budget and how many numbers. Pickled Evenings (Indian) is also highly rated by locals and may be worth looking into. Blue cafe does dinner menu from spring to autumn and should fit numbers and budget price. Good luck and am looking forward to hearing about who and what you went with.
