Dinner Wed-Mon 5.30pm-10pm
The design of the Geronimo, its three-sided bar consuming much of the floor space, telegraphs the need to start a meal here with a cocktail. It won't disappoint - the mixology is as thoughtful as the dishes to come from the kitchen. We're especially keen on anything that's been braised, like meatballs with tomato and saffron, or lamb ragù with potato gnocchi - the robust flavours and the seasoning are spot on. Pasta gets a big thumbs up, too, particularly the roast pumpkin and ricotta agnolotti. There's much more, though, including wood-fired pizze, and desserts, most of which come with a quenelle of perfect ice-cream. Flavours of chocolate and orange are paired with cardamom ice-cream, while fig-leaf ice-cream seems a natural match for deconstructed rhubarb and quince crumble. Service is polished at the bar and on the floor, and the snack selection makes Geronimo good for an aperitivo, should you want to save the meal for your next visit.
