Meet Perth's new high-water mark for pasta. From the comfort of tagliatelle and ragù to the sweet spice of northern Italian specialties such as squid-ink bigoli in a Venetian-style sauce of onions and anchovy, this cosy pasta bar redefines what's possible when flour, water and attention to detail come together. The rest of the cooking exhibits similar smarts.Pickled butter  beans and lemon oil bring creamy stracciatella to life, just as wood-grilled figs with honey and aged Parmigiano-Reggiano exemplify Joel Valvasori-Pereza's Australian-Italian bent. A similar spirit informs the wine list (boutique locals rub shoulders with old-country producers) and the room's look, lace curtains, Sanbittèr bottle vases and all. Desserts regularly feature strong bitter accents - panna cotta dressed with cocoa nibs and a glossy caramel, perhaps, and are the sweeter for them. Engaged service is further proof that Lulu La Delizia is the city's hottest new diner.
