For many, this place is the embodiment of excellence in winery restaurants. They come to enjoy views of the vines and chooks scratching in the kitchen garden, to drink well from Andrew Margan's 30-page wine list and feast on sophisticated fare conjured by talented chef Michael Robinson from local, sustainably produced ingredients. Starters such as Redgate Farm quail ballotines filled with delicate chicken mousse and quail meat with a perfectly poached quail egg, sliced fig and five-spice yoghurt are what keep them coming back. A main course of tender Blackmore wagyu rump cap (medium rare and don't expect it any other way), veal tongue, pickled mushroom, miso and radish is big on flavour and leaves just enough room for dessert. The dome of Zokoko dark chocolate filled with milk-chocolate mousse and white-chocolate sorbet, with almond dentelle and vanilla anglaise foam, makes a sweet ending.
