Mango recipes

Nothing says summer like mangoes. Go beyond the criss-cross cuts - bake a mango-filled meringue loaf with lime mascarpone, start off the day with a sweet coconut quinoa pudding with sticky mango, or toss it through a spicy warm weather Thai salad.

Chilled recipes for summer

When the mercury is rising, step away from the oven. These recipes are either raw, chilled or frozen and will cool you down in a snap.

Shark Bay Wild Scampi Caviar

Garlic recipes

This pungent yet essential little bulb sets the foundation for countless dishes across the globe. Slowly roast it alongside spatchcock or whole snapper, or grind it down to thick paste for a rich alioli. When it comes to garlic, the possibilities truly are endless.

The Fish Shop

You can conclude a meal at The Fish Shop with a well-battered deep-fried banana split, a cocktail, or another wine from the largely organic-biodynamic list, but don't expect coffee. Lingering isn't encouraged, given the low margins on fish, so it's a coffee- and tea-free zone. Besides, it's all about seafood at this charismatic eatery, which caricatures a surfside diner with its quirky seafaring paraphernalia. The menu's market list might feature whitebait that beg to be dunked in the accompanying smoked-garlic mayo; sardines - smoky from the grill - on just-toasted brown bread; or crisp-skinned striped trumpeter with a zingy zucchini ribbon salad. Fish 'n' chips are quintessentially on form: thick pieces of ling are liberally battered and fat chips appealingly surrender from outer crunch to inner softness. When done, clear the decks for incoming diners - you'll be recompensed on your next visit.
