A plump pork croquette, its crisp exterior studded with puffed rice, arrives first with a potent chilli-caramel dipping sauce. There's skill aplenty in evidence, plus a knack for balancing flavours - an early sign you're in good hands. Bang bang chicken features local Peachester chook, its skin cleverly made into crisps, with a bean sprout base charged with herbs and a hot, sesame-sour Sichuan dressing. Green curry is laced with local prawns and chicken and wild ginger dumplings, while miso-marinated sirloin comes with crisp dashi potatoes and tempura oyster mushrooms. The best tables are those alongside large windows that open up to the verdant grounds of this hinterland retreat. Finish with creamy coconut pudding served with pomelo curd and gingerbread crumbs. Or opt for another beer from the numerous craft options. Service is paced for leisure, so it's a tranquil spot to plumb the well-pitched drinks list.
