Veteran Cru Bar (1/22 James St, Fortitude Valley, 07 3252 2400) pulls in a chic crowd for share plates and has a flirty wine list to match. 1889 Enoteca (pictured above) is more restaurant than wine bar, but its minimal-intervention Italian wines cater for buffs with verve. Need a view to go with that slender bottle of Radikon? Mr & Mrs G's Riverbar (Eagle Street Pier, 1 Eagle St, Brisbane, 07 3221 7001) fits the bill more than admirably.
