The Euro

The Euro shares the same kitchen as neighbouring Urbane but here the team tones down the whizz-bangery a bit to present polished takes on bistro fare. And with winning results. Pork belly with blisteringly good crackling, herb gnocchi, miniature vegetables, pear (both caramelised and puréed), and pork jus is lip-smacking to the last bite. Then there’s the hefty serve of orecchiette: little ears of pasta laden with braised duck, peas, olive cheeks and ricotta. Roast chicken is taken up a notch with lemon thyme and sorrel consommé, mushrooms, lentils and Manchego-spiked soft polenta. There’s a bit more edge still in “textures and flavours” of Black Forest gâteau (it tastes less pretentious than it reads). A wide-reaching wine list, accomplished service, and a cliché-free, contemporary, brasseriestyle dining room pull together all the elements for a great night out..
