Rare and remote

Some of Indonesia's more remote islands are accessible in hitherto unimaginable style. The 46-metre, triple-decked Alila Purnama is built in the style of a phinisi, the wooden ships used by the Bugis sailors of south Sulawesi, with five luxe suites, a library and a crew of 16. There's also a dive centre on board, which opens up some of the most spectacular diving in the world on voyages to Raja Ampat, Komodo and Ambon. The suites can be booked individually for set-departure voyages, such as a six-night Raja Ampat expedition from $13,660 per couple, or full-ship charters can be booked with customised itineraries, from $46,700 per night for 10 people.
