"I've made all kinds of fancy cheesecakes in my time, but nothing really beats the classic combination of strawberries and almonds with a boost from vanilla bean," says Stone. "I could just pile macerated strawberries on top, but why not give your tastebuds a proper party by folding grilled strawberries into the cheesecake batter too? Cheesecakes are elegant and my go-to for celebrations because they taste best when whipped up a day in advance."

MONA, The Agrarian Kitchen, Bruny Island, David Moyle - Tassie is in full swing and starting next month it will be even easier to visit.

From 8 March, Qantas will introduce an additional 11 return flights per week from Melbourne and Sydney to Hobart.

"Tasmania has had a fantastic year for tourism, and our popularity continues to grow, with more people holidaying on the island than ever before," said CEO of Tourism Tasmania John Fitzgerald.

Thanks to the increased interest in the southern capital, a total of 46 return services per week will be available from Hobart to Sydney and Melbourne (up from 35 services), which amounts to an extra 2,420 seats to and from Hobart. The additional flights will give 60,000 more visitors the opportunity to see Tasmania every year.

"Tasmania has so much to offer all year round, including amazing food and wine experiences and, of course, the world-renowned MONA," says Qantas Link chief John Gissing. "It's a vote of confidence in tourism, but there is also very strong demand for business traffic." The additional flights will be timed to benefit business travellers and will also mean shorter connection times for travellers flying to and from international destinations such as Shanghai, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Johannesburg.

The new schedule comes just in time for Tasmania's Dark Mofo winter festival in June, which last year drew 76,000 visitors to Macquarie Point. Other exciting developments in 2016 for Tasmania include the November opening of The Agrarian Kitchen's first eatery in New Norfolk, the planned extension to MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), and the revamp of Treasure Island Caravan Park on Lowestoft Bay, which will see the dinky caravan park transformed into a tourist park that can accommodate up to 50,000 visitors a year.
