Ceramics obsessives beware: cult stoneware brand Bison has not only a new collection, but a new website from which it can be ogled and, yes, bought.
Canberra-based stoneware studio Bison has returned from a brief production hiatus with some highly covetable new pieces from its new Poplar series, which sit very comfortably alongside its Classic collection. The poplars that inspired the motif, says Bison founder Brian Tunks, stand just beyond Lake George – a familiar sight for anyone who has driven between the national capital and Sydney. The Bison website, though, is a brand-new vision. Clockwise from front left: cups in Sage and saucers in Stormcloud ($44 set); small lidded ginger jar in Stormcloud ($55); cup in Milk and Espresso saucers in Sage and Milk ($44 set); espresso cups in Milk and Indigo ($39 set including saucer); medium vase in Indigo ($89); napkin ($9); Classic Curve side plate ($33) in Limestone; Serve medium bowl ($56) in Indigo; Classic Curve entrée plates ($41) in Limestone; Classic Curve dinner plate ($49) in Indigo; Poplar saucers and espresso set as before.
