Rosetta is a restaurant in the same way that Ferrari is a car. Yes, it will get you from A to B, but in such fine style - and you'll witness many luxurious flourishes as the scenery flashes by. Rosetta's version of high performance is expressed in its chandelier-and-cushions interior, casual and expansive terrace, well-drilled service and, of course, food. The raw menu is always good. Trout, pickled fennel and white balsamic is a well-judged assembly of carefully cut fish, bright crunch and elegant acidity. Pasta is exemplary: agnolotti del plin are perfect pockets pinched around mixed roasted meats. Dishes from the grill and wood oven are at Rosetta's heart: lightly charred prawns, brushed with gremolata and blanketed by lardo, are typical of the way big guns are wielded with delicacy. Desserts - frozen nougat and chocolate; the world's best practice tiramisù - echo Rosetta's message. Yes, you could just eat, but why not exult in the art of dining?
