Catch The Unicorn at Splendour in the Grass

One of Sydney’s favourite pubs will headline the festival’s food line-up.

The Unicorn Hotel is firing up the charcoal grill for a second year at Splendour in the Grass, bringing a touch of class to festival dining with a three-course set menu.
"Instead of heading out to Brunswick Heads to recharge mid-festival, grab a seat for a pint and a cracker meal before heading back to the mud," says owner Jake Smyth.
Staying true to the pub's ironic take on Australiana, you can enjoy Jatz and French onion dip with an ice-cold beer from the tap - a festival rarity. Replenish energy levels with a Rangers Valley spider steak served with frites, and, before you give up your Bentwood chair to catch Paul Kelly's set, try the winter fruit pavlova, topped with rhubarb and other seasonal fruit from local farmers' markets.
Roast chook with bread sauce.
The all-Australian drinks list includes creative cocktails like Davo - rum and ginger beer laced with a fresh ginger and chilli syrup and lime juice - and Shazza, a zingy tequila and mandarin mix.
But it's not all fine dining. By night, The Unicorn you know and love returns, turning the space into a "Bunnings car park-style" sausage sizzle on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
There are four daily sittings for the three-course set menu, but to guarantee at least one square meal over the weekend, snap up a table through the Splendour in the Grass app.
