Semifreddo is the lesser-known sibling to the Italian gelato. Whereas gelato is made with milk, cream and sugar, semifreddo is made with whipped meringue, combined with cream, then frozen to produce a mousse-like texture, and traditionally served by the slice. Though its name translates to "semi-frozen", we can only taste all-round goodness with these semifreddo recipes.
