REVIEW
Sails is quintessential Noosa beachfront dining, with an exclusive position, killer view, staggering wine listand waitstaff whose service style is almost as sunny as the weather. The menu is aptly seafood-focused, with smart yet simple dishes like crisp bite-sized tostaditas laden with Mooloolaba tuna, avocado, lime and a fresh green tomato relish. If your tastebuds haven’t already realised they’re in the subtropics, they will after a flash-fried soft-shell mud crab with a fragrant, well-balanced hot-and-sour salad with green mango, coriander, Thai basil, mint and a subtle kick of chilli. Classic beer-battered mahi mahi and chips should really be impeccably prepared, given the simplicity of the dish; the fish would fare better after less time in the deep-fryer. When the sea breeze picks up, though, and a passionfruit and peach pavlova arrives scattered with pink petals, the holiday mood is restored and you’ll definitely want to linger.
