Truthfully, there is no right answer. Different areas attract different tourists and depends on what type of holiday you’re in the market for. However, as a first timer to the city looking for luxury and a great base, there are two areas to highlight. The first, and most central of the two is Sukhumvit. Sukhumvit is trendy, popular with tourists and features several luxury hotels. Well connected thanks to the Skytrain, Sukhumvit is great option.
Another popular choice for luxury travellers is Bangkok’s Riverside. A slightly quieter and fancier side to Bangkok, adjacent to all the noise. This area is notable for its array of upper end hotels, restaurants and many temples and shrines to visit, making it equally perfect for couples, families and first-time visitors.
The dry season – November to February – is the most crowed time to visit Thailand. To enjoy Bangkok when it’s less crowded while still catching the good weather, try to plan your holiday around the shoulder seasons – March to June. The rainy or “monsoon” season occurs between July and October.
