Faring the flightpath from Melbourne to Roma, Sydney to Tokyo is no humble business. So, when the opportunity for spending less on flights – and more on local delicacies and boutique hotels – presents itself, you take it.

Whether you’re heading interstate or across the seas, Boxing Day flight sales – as well as New Year’s flight sales – are ones to take advantage of.

The best international and domestic flight sales

Below, we look at those that could help you save your euros, dollars and yens come sale time.

Flight Centre Boxing Day deals

Offering domestic, international and multi-stop flight deals from the likes of Air Canada, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand, Flight Centre is an all-rounder to check out when it comes to acquiring those tickets. You can escape to the Sunshine Coast for $91, Hawaii for $490 return or take a round-the-world trip to San Francisco, Vancouver, Amsterdam and Seoul on business class return for $10 741.

Etihad flight deals

While Etihad hasn’t traditionally participated in Boxing Day sales, the UAE airline has been known to offer New Year’s sales in the past. The airline is currently offering some sweet roundtrip deals such as to Copenhagen from $1745 and to Beirut from $1828.

Virgin Australia Boxing Day flight deals

Virgin Australia is offering significant savings on domestic and international flights this Boxing Day – meaning you could head to Launceston for $85 or Fiji for $529.
