Curtis Stone's strawberry, elderflower and brioche summer puddings

"Think of this dessert as a deconstructed version of a summer pudding, with thinly sliced strawberries macerated in elderflower liqueur and layered between slices of brioche," says Stone. "A dollop of whipped cream on top is a cooling counterpoint to the floral flavours."

Chinese New Year is upon us - and what better way to gear up for it than with our first-ever Chinese-language edition of Australian Gourmet Traveller?

The issue celebrates the best of Australia's eats, retreats, and wine with the help of some of the country's finest taste-makers, from Sydney's best high teas and Instagram-worthy cult sweets to our picks of where to ring in Chinese New Year in style.

"While Gourmet Traveller has been available overseas for many years, we had yet to take the step of publishing in a language other than English," says Gourmet Traveller publisher Cornelia Schulze. "Needless to say, it's particularly exciting to publish a magazine in a foreign language that carries Traveller as part of its name."

Spanning 100 pages, the special edition includes highlights such as insider tips on Sydney from Shine by Three creative director and fashion blogger Margaret Zhang, recipes from Victor Liong of Melbourne's Lee Ho Fook, and guides to the best of Byron Bay and Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.

"Gourmet Traveller can be experienced in many different forms: as a print magazine, an iPad edition, online, via apps, or through its new ceramics range, party hampers and travel offerings," says Schulze. "Adding another language is the logical next step for us to bring the Gourmet Traveller experience to an even broader audience."

The Gourmet Traveller Chinese edition is available now in select hotels, including Sydney's Park Hyatt, Langham, Westin, Sebel and Hilton while stocks last.
