Rainforest retreat in Byron Bay

The Byron at Byron devises new ways to relax and revive.

The Byron at Byron's spa
The only thing more peaceful than walking from infinity pool to suite through subtropical rainforest at The Byron at Byron might be doing the same at a yoga and barre retreat at the resort. Or joining new retreats focused on relaxation and art tuition, or surf coaching and yoga.
Though only five kilometres from the town's shopping heart, The Byron at Byron's tranquillity is ensured by 18 hectares of surrounding forest and close proximity to Tallow Beach. Its 92 suites - in clusters of four, each with shuttered verandas and kitchens, most with walk-in robes and bathtubs - are largely hidden among trees and linked by two kilometres of winding boardwalk. "Walking through the rainforest has an immediate effect on everyone," says general manager Lyn Parché.
For further relaxation, the recently refurbished day spa has steam rooms and mineral spa baths, and more space for couples and groups of friends to relax. It's in the main pavilion that houses the restaurant, lounge-lobby and gym, flanked by wide decks and a 25-metre pool. Beyond the spa, a signature two-hour treatment à deux takes place in a secluded pavilion surrounded by palms and paperbarks, with a (real) ocean soundtrack.
Also new at the resort is the guest appearance of Sydney chef Justin North, who's working with the restaurant team on autumn and winter menus.
