Gourmet Institute 2019 event details: Phil Wood

Learn how to impress with the chef behind Gourmet Traveller’s New Restaurant of the Year.
Phil Wood

It takes a lot to draw attention away from a $50 million sculpture park and winery designed to stun, but Phil Wood has done so at Pt Leo Estate with Laura – Gourmet Traveller’s New Restaurant of the Year. The acclaimed chef is making his mark at this Mornington Peninsula destination, with dishes truly worth travelling for – but you needn’t leave the city to discover the key to making his Dutch carrot soufflé, beetroot pancakes or prawn butter pasta.

Matching wines, courtesy of Bird in Hand. include Bird in Hand Pinot Gris 2019, Bird in Hand Sparkling 2019 and Bird in Hand Montepulciano 2017.

Phil Wood’s beetroot pancake, lemon curd and Yarra Valley salmon roe.
