Whether it's a jaunt to Singapore, a trip to Rome or a stay in the Big Apple, these are our favourite new international hotels to splurge on.

The Londoner, United Kingdom

London has a new contender for the hottest hotel title. The Londoner calls itself “the world’s first super boutique hotel”, and on our inspection the elegant Leicester Square five-star stay is a glamorous toe dip into the luxe London life. There are five buzzy bars and restaurants to share with the city but a highlight is The Residence; a drawing room, whisky room and cocktail bar for guests’ eyes only. W Rome, Italy

This butterfly-inducing 162-room hotel burst into central Rome in late 2021, and it’s confirmation the ancient city has its groove back. Two 19th century palazzos are met with energetic design flourishes in a major Italiano moment. The flagship restaurant, Giano, is helmed by Michelin-starred chef Ciccio Sultano, while the rooftop bar is the place for aperitivi. From $1340 per night, marriott.com

Raffles Hotel, Singapore

After a two-year overhaul and two years of closed borders, the grand dame is back on top of our to-do list. A stay here feels like being suspended in history. Though the eating and drinking at Anne-Sophie Pic’s divine La Dame de Pic and revved-up Writers Bar (right) is in step with Singapore’s heightened hospitality scene. Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, Spain

A night here means sleeping in an actual Belle Epoque palace, next to the Prado Museum. Mandarin Oriental took over the Ritz in 2018 and spent three years upping its game. Meet us at Pictura (pictured) for a nightcap? From $1140 per night, mandarinoriental.com

Aman New York, United States of America

As you read this, the year’s most longed for digs is opening its Fifth Avenue doors. Designed by architect Jean-Michel Gathy, we are expecting Asian serenity to meet NYC grandeur and pinch-me moments to ensue. Prices to be announced, aman.com

Rosewood São Paulo, Brazil

For Rosewood’s first South American property, the boutique luxury all-stars enlisted celebrity architect Jean Nouvel to design a monumental tower, and wrangled an acclaimed international food and beverage team to make this new city stay sizzle. From $820 per night, rosewoodhotels.com
