Gourmet Traveller releases first-ever travel photography book

40 destinations, 358 pages of full-colour photographs and ideas for your next holiday await.

Did a holiday really happen if you don’t have a photo to prove it? If our social media feeds are any indication, the answer is no. But while we’re surrounded by images of our own and other people’s travel adventures, nothing can top a professional photographer’s shot when it comes to sparking your imagination and making your next holiday daydream a reality.

For the first-time ever, Gourmet Traveller has compiled photographs from more than 40 destinations, as captured by some of the finest travel photographers in the business, and published them in a stunning hardcover book, Destinations.

“Exceptional travel photography offers you a sense of place, the essence of a country, town or coastline distilled into a frame,” says Sarah Oakes, Gourmet Traveller‘s editor. “It takes you there. And when it’s really good, it takes you to the travel agent to book tickets.”

Flick through the pages of Destinations and visit some of the world’s most beautiful and exotic places, from the grand turquoise minarets of Uzbekistan to the streets of Cuba and the communities of the Mekong Delta, or soak up scenes from must-see cities including Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro and Kyoto.

The book showcases the work of photographers including John Laurie, Sharyn Cairns, Julian Kingma and more, who capture spectacular scenery, ambitious architecture, good-looking food, local faces and, hopefully, inspiration for many journeys to come.

Destinations is on sale now at magshop.com.au and in all good bookshops for $59.99.
