There’s history at every turn at the new Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St Petersburg.

There’s history at every turn at the new Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St Petersburg. Its entrance is flanked by the marble lions immortalised in Pushkin’s 1833 poem The Bronze Horseman. Its home is the Lobanova-Rostovskaya palace, built in 1820, in the heart of the historic Admiralteysky district. The hotel’s opening last month follows a near decade-long restoration that retained many original features, with original drawings by French architect Auguste de Montferrand providing guidance. Room rates are around $1026 per night for two adults.
