Many of us couldn't imagine getting through the day without coffee, but for people living on the streets the ritual of indulging in a morning brew en route to the office couldn't be further from reality.
Charity organisation StreetSmart want to change that by helping fund services which assist the homeless - and they're drawing on the nation's fondness for coffee to do so.
Tomorrow - Friday, August 4 - the organisation will host its annual CafeSmart campaign, with 500 participating cafes around the country pledging to donate $1 from every cup sold toward helping those sleeping rough.
Now in its seventh year, the organisation hopes to trump its 2016 campaign efforts where an impressive $160,523 was raised and used to fund local projects.
Some of the cafes on board for this year's event include:
The Grounds of Alexandria
Coffee Tea and Me
Three Blue Ducks
Tivoli Road Bakery
Felix for Goodness
Mylk and Co
Dovetail on Overend
So if your main coffee spot isn't participating, it might be worth trying out somewhere new - you'll be inadvertently helping those in need, fuelling your daily addiction guilt-free and may even unearth a new favourite spot.
