Many of us couldn’t imagine getting through the day without coffee, but for people living on the streets the ritual of indulging in a morning brew en route to the office couldn’t be further from reality.
Charity organisation StreetSmart want to change that by helping fund services which assist the homeless – and they’re drawing on the nation’s fondness for coffee to do so.
Tomorrow – Friday, August 4 – the organisation will host its annual CafeSmart campaign, with 500 participating cafes around the country pledging to donate $1 from every cup sold toward helping those sleeping rough.
Now in its seventh year, the organisation hopes to trump its 2016 campaign efforts where an impressive $160,523 was raised and used to fund local projects.

So if your main coffee spot isn’t participating, it might be worth trying out somewhere new – you’ll be inadvertently helping those in need, fuelling your daily addiction guilt-free and may even unearth a new favourite spot.
