Parisian patisserie Ladurée has opened its first Melbourne tearoom as part of Chadstone’s lavish $660 million redevelopment.
Sitting under Chadstone’s impressive grid shell roof, the luxury patisserie is the third to open in Australia, following a small outpost in Westfield Sydney and a standalone store in Woollahra.
Decked out in lavish marble, including a bar that seats nine, it’s the perfect space to enjoy Ladurée’s famous pastel-hued macarons in between shopping sprees. Try flavours of smooth, shiny macarons such as salted caramel, lemon, chocolate, raspberry, pistachio, liquorice, rose petal, vanilla and coffee.
Assorted macarons
The specialty macarons are also available to take home in beautifully designed gift boxes, as well as a selection of teas, scented candles, chocolates and home fragrances.
Ladurée’s take away boxes
Not so keen on macarons? Try a financier, Madeleine, cake au citron or cake à la rose, or perhaps a scoop of ice-cream or sorbet in flavours like pistachio, salted caramel, chestnut, Gianduja or hazelnut. They’re also available in milkshake form, should tea not touch the sides.
Assorted flavours of Ladurée’s macarons
On the savoury side there’s a selection of cocktails and finger sandwiches available, and a short and sweet brunch menu, but we all know what you’re here for – stick to the classics, a box of salted caramel macarons, tout suite.
