Say Cheese Festival at Prahran Market

A lifetime can be spent enjoying the wonders of cheese, but for now dedicate an afternoon to it at this new festival.

Come 22 October, Prahran Market’s free Say Cheese Festival will showcase a selection of Australia’s best artisan cheeses in Melbourne’s oldest marketplace.

Featuring cheeses and cheese-related products, dozens of delicatessens will participate in the festival, with recurring market faces joined by new talent.

Taste world-class cheesemonger Anthony Femia from Maker & Monger’s khachapuri – a traditional Georgian dish of molten, smoked cheese baked in a bread bowl, or one of their incredible grilled-cheese sandwiches.

For a sweet treat, Sweet Greek will be serving saganaki, fried and drenched in honey, alongside Tad Lombardo’s baked salted pretzel with dark chocolate and warm parmesan dips. There’s even talk of a cheese gelato being scooped up.

Live music and performances will entertain throughout the day, as will cooking demonstrations and cheese tasting platters.
