The waiting list is long and the pain of missing out is endless, but if you’re still hankering for a chance to fight the FOMO and dine at René Redzepi’s Noma Australia pop-up, the restaurant’s final night of service on April 2 might be your last hope.
Brainstorming how to most fittingly cap off the restaurant’s 10-week residency, the team settled on going out on a note of altruism. Fifteen tables of various sizes are being auctioned off online from today, March 14, until March 24 to raise funds for both Oz Harvest and MAD, Redzepi’s not-for-profit food education community.
“It is an opportunity for us to give back in a small way, a chance to raise money and recognise the work being done by our friends at Oz Harvest and MAD,” says the chef, “and to celebrate the welcome we’ve received and the new friendships we have made throughout our Australian adventure.”
The auction will be for whole tables only, with a table for two starting at $1,500. The auction price will include the full tasting menu (hello, abalone schnitzel) and the drink pairing.
It’s open now until Thursday March 24 at stores.ebay.com.au/nomaaustralia.
