One of the newest additions to Gold Coast’s hotel scene stands out as its most sophisticated. Opened in 2022, The Langham occupies three striking beachside towers between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. The central and tallest tower houses the hotel itself, while the flanking buildings contain the Jewel Residences – luxury serviced apartments also managed by The Langham.

The rooms

With 17 room types on offer at the Langham Gold Coast, options range from well-priced superior rooms to expansive suites, all with either hinterland or ocean views. In the suites, the bathrooms stand out – spacious and luxurious, with large circular baths as the centrepieces. Interiors are bright and elegant, pairing crisp white interiors with soft blue rugs that echo the coastal outlook. Thoughtful touches elevate the experience: thongs instead of slippers, bottled cocktails from SYP Drinks, and a minibar stocked with a demi-bottle of Taittinger.

Food & drink

T’ang Court is the jewel in the Langham Group’s culinary crown. Its Hong Kong outpost has held three Michelin stars for 10 years, while Shanghai has one star. Expectations are understandably high for the Gold Coast iteration, and it delivers. Highlights include the signature prawn and bamboo har gow and the stir-fried wagyu tenderloin with black pepper sauce. For a more casual option, Akoya offers all-day dining, from a buffet breakfast to à la carte dinners.

The service

Warm, professional and prompt, the staff at Langham Gold Coast are available 24/7. A request for a phone charger, for example, was fulfilled in under two minutes.

Ideal for: Family getaways and romantic escapes

Why we love it:

  • The sunrises. If your room faces the ocean, you’ll wake to stunning sunrises over the water. The way the light hits the balcony is magical.
  • It’s family-friendly. There’s a kids club on level two, plus a roster of activities during school holidays.
  • The lagoon pool. Overlooking the ocean, the lagoon-style pool is a popular hub. Guests lounge poolside or swim up to the bar for cocktails and Spritzes.
