Local, original and limited-edition pieces are at the top of our gift (and wish) list this Christmas, but tracking them down can be tough so we’ve launched our first pop-up. The GT x STILY Christmas Boutique, developed in collaboration with one of our favourite shops, Sydney’s Sorry Thanks I Love You, opens Tuesday 22 November and the shelves are set to be stocked with everything from ceramics to smallgoods, homewares, art and more from our favourite independent designers and producers.
Some of the makers are established names, others are emerging, but every item has an interesting story – and they’re all under one roof, ready to take their place under the Christmas tree.
Instead of socks this year, treat Dad to an Indeco chopping board made of Tasmanian blackwood, perhaps, or a handmade pizza cutter with a handle refashioned from pre-loved skateboards by Sydney label Skate Shank. And for Mum, how about the vibrant textiles of Shilo Engelbrecht and Trade the Mark, or a limited-edition print from our very own Good Food Crap Drawing (aka GT art director Anna Vu).
Your Christmas guests will love Pickett’s Deli preserves, Continental Deli’s salted caramel, Christmas pudding from Daylesford’s Lake House and small-batch chocolates by Giovanni Pilu and Perth chocolatier Sue Lewis. And set your table in unique style with our homewares collections by Robert Gordon and Madras Link, or the wares of Hayden Youlley, Mukumono, The Fortynine Studio and more. These are top-shelf makers we respect and love – we hope you (and yours) will love them, too.
