Just as West Hollywood (WeHo, to the locals) is synonymous with glitz, glamour and a party atmosphere, a dip in a sparkling rooftop pool is also an essential. Cool down in the water during the day, and head back up to the roof come sunset for the best views in the house.
The London
The London
Step foot onto the rooftop at The London and you’ll be transported by far-reaching views of West Hollywood and LA from 10 floors up. This is more of a chill-out zone than a rampant soiree, but the rooftop terrace is fitted out with poolside cabanas, sun beds and a separate dining area. They also fire up a few fire pits come dusk.
The Mondrian
The Mondrian
You won’t find a pool with a better panoramic view of LA than at The Mondrian. Complete with a sleek teak deck and underwater speakers, the pool is surrounded by comfy lounge chairs and walls covered in vines. Bar service is available from the adjacent SkyBar so drinks flow from day, right into the night when the pool lights up with swinging lanterns.
Petit Ermitage
Petit Ermitage
The Private Rooftop Club Pool at the Petit Ermitage reflects the sensibilities of the Mediterranean. Dip your feet into the saltwater pool as candles are lit at dusk and gaze on as the sun disappears into the hills. Every so often the water is scented with the essence of damask roses, so bathers emerge smelling sweet.
Sunset Marquis
Sunset Marquis
A well-known celebrity haunt where the likes of Courtney Love and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have trod the tiles, this hotel features two roomy pools and boasts a history stretching back over 50 years.
The Andaz
The Andaz
Settle down in a cabana as you soak up the lights of the Hollywood Hills on one side and Sunset Strip on the other at the Andaz. Think of it as a peaceful go-to rather than a party spot, where you can either sip cocktails or take a yoga class, protected from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
