Ten chefs, one weekend afternoon, and a whole lot of social good. On Sunday February 24, muffuletta-maestro Clayton Wells is inviting nine of his favourite local chefs over to his Chippendale fine-diner, Automata, to help host a canapé party.

But the event is not just snacks, drinks and frivolity. All proceeds from the event will go towards Two Good Co, a social enterprise and food delivery service. The organisation operates on a “buy one, give one” system; for each meal they sell, a second meal is donated to a women’s refuge centre or soup kitchen. They also provide employment and hospitality training for women in crisis.

The One Plate for Two Good party will feature snacks made by culinary luminaries such as Luke Powell (Bella Brutta), Palisa Anderson (Boon Cafe, Chat Thai), Trisha Greentree (ex-Brae, incoming chef at 10 William St), Federico Zanellato (LuMi) and Saint Peter’s Josh Niland (who recently received a World Restaurant Awards nomination for his positive contributions to sustainable seafood and staff welfare.

The event, which had its inaugural run in 2018, will also welcome the return of Paul Carmichael (Momofuku Seiobo), Dan Hong (Mr. Wong), Ben Greeno (The Paddington) and Monty Koludrovic (Icebergs) to the pans.

“It’s great to get a bunch of our friends involved and have a bit of a party for a great cause,” says Wells. “We have had a close relationship with Two Good for a couple of years now and love what they do by helping people through food.”
