REVIEW
With an elevated position and cinematic Story Bridge views, Alchemy offers some of Brisbane’s best riverfront dining. A popular spot for business lunches with nearby Eagle Street’s corporate set, by night it morphs into special-occasion territory, with experienced, amiable staff running the floor. Interiors are sophisticated, decorated in earthy and copper tones, with timber features. The extensive wine list is a treasure trove of Australian, New Zealand and European options, while dishes tend towards the classic but often arrive with a twist. Duck terrine, enriched with foie gras, is served with a bold cherry compote and biscuit-thin walnut bread. Twisted trofie pasta comes with rich Champagne velouté dotted with salmon roe and blue swimmer crab. For an upbeat finale, you can rely on chocolate mousse with peanut brittle, salted crumble and chocolate glass or the choose your- own adventure of the chef’s liquid nitrogen dessert experience.
