Packed with vitamin C and known for its distinctive bittersweet tang, grapefruit is a marvellous citrus to cook with. Whether you’re a particular fan of of ruby red grapefruit or partial to all its coloured variants, the large, tart citrus works just as well in savoury dishes as it does in decadent desserts.

What can you do with a lot of grapefruit?

Grapefruit is an excellent citrus to enjoy raw, but there are only so many plain grapefruit breakfasts or snacks to be had. The bitter-sweet flavour profile of grapefruit works particularly well in a jelly or a sorbet. Recipes such as these have the added bonus of using a lot of grapefruits for their juice, so if you have a lot on hand, now you know which recipes to make. In this collection we have a mandarin and grapefruit jelly that calls for two whole grapefruits, or a grapefruit sorbet that will require five or six whole grapefruits, depending on the size.
