REVIEW
Tinkling chandeliers, heritage-listed surrounds, primped gardens – this Gatsby-esque Blue Mountains restaurant, set in Lilianfels Resort & Spa, might be the place that you and your great aunt agree on. Time your evening with the sunset; the colours that play out across the cliffs in Echo Point will leave you swooning. So too will the menu, which displays chef Lee Kwiez’s connection to bountiful Australian produce. Case in point: the braised leek tortellini entrée with velvety butter-poached prawns and the main course of conversation-stopping Crack Willow Farm pork with maltose apples and Pedro Ximénez-soaked prunes. This is not the place for abstemious behaviour; desserts such as Zokoko chocolate mousse with peanuts and popcorn deserve attention. The extensive wine list consists of both regional hits and Old World stars. The seamless package, smooth service included, makes for an exceptional Blue Mountains experience.
